2021 Viking Hoards (South IoM)

Metal Detecting & Treasure Hunting Site HIGH Priority 2021 Viking Hoards (South IoM) - Metal Detecting & Treasure Hunting Site on the Isle of Man
TWO separate major Viking hoards were found by metal detectorists in 2021 alone — proving IoM is the UK's hottest spot for Viking treasure RIGHT NOW. Hoard 1 (February 2021): gold arm ring, large silver brooch, silver armband. Hoard 2 (July 2021): 87 silver coins minted in IoM, Dublin, England, and modern-day Germany, plus 13 pieces of hacksilver (cut-up arm rings used as currency). The July hoard included rare Sihtric Silkbeard coins (Norse King of Dublin). Both declared Treasure under IoM's Treasure Act 2017. WHY DETECT HERE: Exact locations kept secret ('south of the island') but the MESSAGE is clear: IoM is still producing Viking treasure in 2021, 2024, and presumably every year in between. The south of the island includes Rushen, Malew, and Arbory parishes — all with documented Norse activity. Get out there with a detector and you could be next.
