Ballahara Chambered Tomb

Neolithic Archaeological Site LOW Priority Ballahara Chambered Tomb - Neolithic Archaeological Site on the Isle of Man
Neolithic chambered cairn near Ballasalla, partially destroyed but still recognisable. Part of a cluster of Neolithic monuments in southern IoM that includes Meayll Circle and the Ronaldsway sites. WHY IT MATTERS: The density of Neolithic monuments in this area suggests a large, organised farming community. The flat, fertile land of the southern plain was ideal for early agriculture. Fields between here and Ronaldsway have produced Ronaldsway-culture pottery over the years.
