Cregneash Village

Multi-Period Archaeological Site LOW Priority Cregneash Village - Multi-Period Archaeological Site on the Isle of Man
Living museum of traditional Manx crofting life, managed by Manx National Heritage. The village preserves traditional thatched cottages, farming methods, and Manx culture. Adjacent to Meayll Circle (unique megalithic site) and the dramatic southern cliffs. WHY VISIT: While detecting isn't appropriate in the museum village, the surrounding farmland and the cliff-top areas have potential. The entire Meayll peninsula was a ritual landscape in prehistory. Beach detecting on the remote southern coast (accessible from Cregneash) is virtually uncompeted.
