Glen Maye
Multi-Period Archaeological Site LOW Priority
Beautiful wooded glen on the west coast with waterfall and old mine workings. The glen was a Victorian tourist attraction (refreshment kiosk, paths) and has earlier archaeological associations. WHY: The mine workings add mineral collecting to the mix. Victorian tourist items on paths. The glen mouth where it meets the coast has storm-deposited debris from offshore wrecks. A quiet location with minimal detecting pressure.
