JARVIS REC: Northern Plain (Bride/Andreas)
Metal Detecting & Treasure Hunting Site HIGH PriorityTERRAIN ANALYSIS: The entire northern plain from Bride to Andreas to Jurby is IoM's largest flat lowland — glacial drift creating deep, fertile soil. This is almost certainly where the densest prehistoric and Norse settlement was concentrated. WHY I RECOMMEND THIS: (1) Flat, well-drained farmland = easy detecting, clear signals, (2) IoM's richest agricultural land attracted the wealthiest settlers, (3) Viking heartland (proven by hoards, crosses, place names), (4) Bronze Age burial mounds documented but most ploughed flat and invisible, (5) LEAST DETECTED area proportional to its potential. Strategy: knock on every farmhouse door between Bride and Andreas. Offer to share finds. Detect systematically field by field.
