Kath Giles Viking Hoard Site (2020)

Site where metal detectorist Kath Giles discovered an internationally significant Viking hoard in late 2020, declared Treasure in 2021. The find included a gold arm-ring, a massive silver brooch, silver armbands, and other items dating to c.AD 950. WHY DETECT HERE: This recent find proves Viking hoards are still being discovered. The Isle of Man has more Viking-age silver per square kilometre than any neighbouring territory.
