Keeill Ballaquinney (St Fingan's)
Early Christian Keeill & Chapel MED Priority
Keeill (16'10" x 10'6") in Marown dedicated to St Fingan, with an 8th-century cross found at the site. One of the larger keeills, suggesting an important community chapel. WHY: The presence of a carved cross indicates this was a significant site — not just a hermit's cell but a place of community worship. The 8th century date places it at the height of the Celtic Christian golden age on IoM.
