Keeill Ballavarkish (St Mark's, Bride)

Early Christian Keeill & Chapel MED Priority
Keeill (17'6" x 11') in the remote Bride parish with 7th-8th century cross found. Bride is IoM's most northerly parish and one of the least explored archaeologically. WHY: The cross dating to 7th-8th century proves very early Christian activity. Bride's remoteness means almost zero detecting has ever been done here. The flat agricultural land is ideal for detecting. Combined with the Norse settlement history of adjacent Andreas, this parish has enormous untapped potential.
