Peel Hill / Corrin's Hill

Multi-Period Archaeological Site MED Priority Peel Hill / Corrin's Hill - Multi-Period Archaeological Site on the Isle of Man
Hillside above Peel with the Corrin's Tower landmark (memorial to Thomas Corrin, built 1806). Views across Peel to the castle and out to sea. The hill has been used for signalling, grazing, and recreation for centuries. WHY: Elevated viewpoints near settlements were used for gatherings, lookouts, and beacons throughout history. The path from Peel up to the tower is a well-worn track β€” items dropped along it over two centuries. The hilltop area around the tower is productive for Victorian items (visitors' coins, buttons).
