Point of Ayre Beaches

Metal Detecting & Treasure Hunting Site HIGH Priority Point of Ayre Beaches - Metal Detecting & Treasure Hunting Site on the Isle of Man
IoM's northernmost tip — lighthouse (1818), shifting sandbanks, and treacherous offshore waters. Multiple vessels lost on the sandbanks. WHY: Remote location + shifting substrate + shipwrecks + zero competition = one of IoM's most underexploited detecting sites. The adjacent Bride parish has Norse settlement history. Shingle beaches can produce semi-precious stones and sea glass. After northerly storms, debris from the entire Irish Sea shipping lane washes up here.

What You Can Find Here

Ship debris, Victorian items, maritime fittings, coins, semi-precious stones, sea glass, possible amber, Norse items in adjacent fields
