Point of Ayre Wreck Zone

Historic Shipwreck & Dive Site MED Priority
IoM's northernmost tip — lighthouse (1818), shifting sandbanks, and treacherous offshore waters. Multiple vessels lost on the sandbanks. WHY: Remote location + shifting substrate + shipwrecks + zero competition = one of IoM's most underexploited detecting sites. The adjacent Bride parish has Norse settlement history. Shingle beaches can produce semi-precious stones and sea glass. After northerly storms, debris from the entire Irish Sea shipping lane washes up here.
