Port Erin Coast
Norse & Post-Medieval Site MED Priority
Victorian resort coast with Bradda Head (copper-lead mine), Milner Tower, and sheltered south-facing bay. Port Erin was connected to Douglas by the IoM Steam Railway from 1874, bringing thousands of holidaymakers. The Marine Biological Station operated here for over a century. WHY DETECT HERE: 150+ years of tourism activity, plus mine spoil with mineral specimens. The Steam Railway station area is productive β passengers lost items while waiting. The coastal path yields Victorian items washed from eroding cliffs.
