Speke Keeill (Mount Murray)

Early Christian & Norse Site LOW Priority Speke Keeill (Mount Murray) - Early Christian & Norse Site on the Isle of Man
Keeill site at Mount Murray in the east — now in a golf course/hotel development area. Despite modern development, the actual keeill remains are preserved and the surrounding land retains archaeological potential. WHY: Development sometimes protects sites (they get fenced off and preserved) and sometimes reveals new material (construction work turns up buried items). The fields beyond the development area are farmland with keeill-era potential.
