SS Citrine

Historic Shipwreck & Dive Site HIGH Priority SS Citrine - Historic Shipwreck & Dive Site on the Isle of Man
650-ton coaster that ran aground in March 1931 during a storm off the Calf of Man. 10 of 12 crew perished — one of IoM's worst maritime disasters of the 20th century. Now a popular dive site at ~16m depth at the base of a huge cliff. The boiler, hull plating, pipes, and deck machinery are all visible and well-colonised by marine life. Monkfish, huge crabs, lobsters, and oversized Pollack inhabit the wreck. WHY DIVE HERE: Perfect intermediate wreck dive — shallow enough for sport divers, interesting enough for experienced ones. The scattered wreckage covers a large area so you can explore for a full dive. Combine with scenic Burroo dive. Accessible from Port St Mary via Discover Diving or Isle of Man Diving Charters.
