Vowlan Hillfort

Coastal hillfort on the east coast of the Isle of Man. Part of the network of 28 hillforts catalogued in the Atlas of Hillforts of Britain and Ireland. WHY DETECT HERE: Hillforts were centres of local power and trade — finds include brooches, ring money, tools, and personal ornaments from the Iron Age through to the Norse period.
